The Construction of Spiritual Home in Traditional Chinese Society and its Contemporary Value

Abstract

Traditional Chinese society attached great importance to the construction of spiritual home,especially Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism.Confucianism exerted oneself on realistic the construction of spiritual home and focused on some virtues,such as kindheartedness and justice,mean,enterprising spirit and being a sage.Taoism made great efforts on the construction of natural spiritual home and paid attention to some virtues,such as returning to one’s original nature,being indifferent to fame and wealth,letting things take their own course and treating all things equally.Meanwhile,Buddhism endeavored to construct unfixed spiritual home and guide adherents to escape from the human world of woes.The construction of spiritual home of the above Three showed a series of peculiarities,specific means the True,the Good and the Beauty.If we view these spiritual resources rationally,it will benefit us by breaking away from ‘The Spiritual Dilemma’ in ways of thinking,production,and life.
