Abstract
Objective To study the application of multi-slice spiral CT portography in the diagnonsis of collateral vessels due to portal hypertension. Materials and Methods 126 cases with portal hypertension were underwent MSCT portography. Results In the CT portography of 126 patients, there were 108 cases with esophagus varix, 117 cases with gastric fundus varix, 8 cases with simple esophagus varix, 99 cases with esophagus and gastric fundus varix, 1 case with esophagus and gastric body varix, 18 cases with simple gastric fundus varix. The CT portography showed the dilated left gastric vein in 120 cases, paraumbilical veins in 26 cases, gastro-omenta vein in 10 cases. The 4 cases of spleen renal shunt and 35 cases of gastro-renal shunt were also found in CT portography. Conclusion The MSCT portography give valuable information in vessel morphology, which is a useful diagnostic tools for portal hypertension.
