Abstract
Objective:To study the treatment and prognosis of foot drop due to lumbar disc protrusion. Methods:Reviewing 18 cases(20 feet),whose follow up period were over 2 years, and to analyze the influence factors to curative effect. Results:Total excellent and good rate was 80.0%.It had close relationship between the curative effect and the course of disease( P 0.05),and it had no statistical significance between the curative effect and the patients age and preoperative muscle force( P 0.05).Conclusion:When the diagnosis of foot drop due to lumbar disc protrusion has been made, the operation should be performed immediately, and decrease the compression thoroughly, and the partial laminectomy is appropriatly for most of the cases.
