Abstract

The age structures of Leymus chinensis clonal population were studied in Zhaosu county where was in Yili River valley area.The habitat of Leymus chinensis can be divided into two different types,Populus community(H1),Leymus chinensis single dominant speciecs community(H2).The results showed that:(1) The tillers consisted of three age classes in H1 and four age classes in H2,and discreased with increasing age quickly;The tillers structure in the two habitat were the same,which was an increasing type.(2)The rhizomes lengh consisted of four age classs in two habitats.The age structure of lengh of rhizomes of Leymus chinensis was an increasing type in H1,steady type in H2.(3) The age structure of tillers biomass in two habitats was same as the tillers,and were increasing type;the rhizome biomass was consisted of four age classes in two habitats,which were blong to steady type.The lower age classs was predominant in age structure of tiller plants and rhizome biomass in H1 and H2 habitats.
