Abstract

Objective To compare the content of protopine, allocryptopine, sanguinarine, and chelerythrine in Macleaya microcarpa(Maxim) Fedde and Macleaya Cordate(Willd.) R.Br.. Methods High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method was used to determine the 4 alkaloids in leaves of Macleaya microcarpa(Maxim) Fedde and Macleaya Cordate(Willd.) R.Br.. Results Content of(protopine, allocryptopine, sanguinarine, and chelerythrine) was 0.48%-2.00%,0.36%-1.72%,0.18%-0.81%,and 0.07%-0.33% in leaves of Macleaya microcarpa(Maxim) Fedde and 0.01-0.13%,0.07%-0.48%,0.24%-0.75%,and 0.35%-1.24% in leaves of Macleaya Cordate(Willd.) R.Br.,respectively. Conclusion Content of protopine and allocryptopine in leaves of Macleaya Cordate(Willd.) R.Br.is more than that in Macleaya microcarpa(Maxim) Fedde, but content of sanguinarine and chelerythrine in leaves of Macleaya microcarpa(Maxim) Feddle is more than that in Macleaya Cordate(willd.) R.Br..
