Abstract

It introduces bus rapid transit technology and its application in the metropolis of the world. By comparing the characteristics of the BRT with other public transport tools in terms of technology and economics, it evaluates the position and effect of BRT in public transport system. After presenting the practice of BRT in China, it offers primary suggestions for the development process of BRT projects and discusses some specific problems.
