Abstract
Objective To investigate the factors influencing the intraocular pressure(IOP) in high myopic patients. Methods The IOP of 465 eyes in 258 high myopic patients aged 17 to 53 years were measured by Goldmann tonometer;the central corneal thickness(CCT),curvature, diopter and axial length were also measured. The factors influencing the IOP values were analyzed. Results The IOP of high myopic patients was not associated with ages, diopter or curvature, but was positively correlated with CCT and axial length(r = 0.507 and 0.11,P = 0.00 and 0.018,respectively),with the linear regression equations of Y= -8.376 +0.043X and Y = 7.817 +0.275X respectively. Conclusion The study suggests that the IOP is related to CCT and axial length, which has important clinical implication in evaluating actual IOP.
