Abstract
Objective To investigate the factors that influence the intraocular pressure(IOP) of myopic patients. Methods The intraocular pressures of 2 332 eyes of 1 200 myopic patients were measured both by noncontact tonometry and schiotz tonometry(double-weight correction),and the central corneal thickness(CCT),curvature and diopter were also measured. The data was analyzed by SPSS 11.5 stastical software. Results A positive correlation was seen among CCT,diopter, curvature and noncontac IOP(The correlation coefficient was 0.139,0.130 and 0.105 respectively, and P value were all less than 0.001),and the corresponding regression equations for noncontac IOP to CCT,curvature and diopter were built up as follows:Y=0.119X_1+3.178X_2+0.296X_3-14.856(P0.001);While a positive correlation was also found among CCT,diopter and schiotz IOP(The correlation coefficient was 0.117 and 0.056 and P value were less than 0.001),and the corresponding regression equations for schiotz IOP to CCT and diopter was also built up as follows:Y=6.191X_1+1.130X_2+10.198(P0.001);In addition,IOP measured by noncontact tonometry and that by schiotz tonometry were founded to have stastical difference, and the former was lower than the latter. Conclusion The results suggest that the IOP of myopic patients is positively related to CCT,curvature and dioper, and before making our clinical diagnosis, these important factors should be considered.
