Abstract
The Azadegan oilfield in northern Iran has complex geological conditions,limited data of offset wells,and drilling difficulties such as likely azimuth drift in upper hole section,difficult to control wellbore trajectory and uncertain geologic target.The drilling practice of Well AZNN-004 in this oilfield has been employed to optimize BHA and wellbore trajectory.With the help of geosteering technology and friction hydraulic analysis technology,the above drilling difficulties have been overcome,thereby greatly improved drilling success ratio,reduced cost and guided horizontal well drilling operations in this oilfield.
