APPLICATION OF GEOSTEERING DRILLING TECHNIQUE IN JIDONG OILFIELD

Abstract

In drilling horizontal wells,geosteering drilling technique is critical.This technique can determine and control well trajectory based on geological research,LWD curve,comprehensive mud-logging data(e.g.,drilling-time logging,cutting logging and fluorescent logging)along with gas-logging data and downhole geological characteristics.Additional,geosteering drilling technique may control accurately downhole equipment,increase a penetration coefficient of well trajectory in oil layers and find out an optimal geological target.This paper presents a case study of LWD geosteering drilling technique applied to Jidong Oilfield and analyzes both the landing geosteering of horizontal well and the drilling procedure of horizontal-well geosteering drilling technique in Jidong Oilfield.
