Abstract

For the great changes of the production mode, economic basis and social environment, the classical Confucianism, no longer in line with the development of modern society, can not be used as the guiding principle although it can serve for reference as the thought resources for the construction of a harmonious socialism society. Though the classical Confucianism is an element of the contemporary cultural system of Chinese morality and thinking, it has been integrated with the excellent cultures of China's past historical periods and of other countries and regions, and it is therefore, far deeper-going and richer than the original classical Confucianism and more adaptable to the modern society, The guiding principle for building a harmonious socialist society can only be Marxism.
