Study on Prevention and Control Technology for Coal Spontaneous Combustion in Fully Mechanized Top- coal Caving Face in “Three- soft”Coal Seam

Abstract

In this paper,analysis was made on the characteristics of coal spontaneous combustion in fully mechanized top-coal caving face inthreesoftcoal seam,and the preventive measures against coal spontaneous combustion were proposed and applied for the prevention and control of the spontaneous fire zone in N101 fully mechanized topcoal caving face of Baoji Qinyuan Mine. The application results showed that during the enclosure of the spontaneous fire zone,the CO concentration in the gob behind No. 38 support( the point where the highest CO concentration and temperature appeared in the whole fore zone) gradually reduced from 5. 8 × 104to 5. 0 × 106after taking the fire preventive and extinguishing measures,this indicated the good effect of the firefighting measures. Using this firefighting technology,the spontaneous fire in N101 fully mechanized topcoal caving face was successfully put out,and the fully mechanized equipment such as hydraulic powered supports which were enclosed in the face for several months was finally withdrawn.
