Abstract
The paper presents the ways of building an opening standard parts library with methods of solid modeling and parametric CAD in order to shorten the development cycle of stamping dies and improve the product quality. It describes the progress of designing user interface, making parametric dimension driving,assembling environment and linking database based on UG/OPEN API technology. The main fonctions and characteristics of the system are summerized.
