The paper presents how to build an opened standard parts library built with methods of solid modeling and parametric CAD , and describes the processing of creating the standard parts library, designing user interface , m aking dimension driving and assembling environment based on UG/Open API technol ogy . It also summaries main functions and peculiarity of the standard parts lib rary.
