Abstract
Objective To study the therapeutic effect, and its influencing factors of artificial liver support system(plasma exchange) in severe hepatitis. Methods Thirty-two patients with severe hepatitis were treated with 52 case-times of plasma exchange on the basis of internal medicine management. Results All the 32 patients were improved in clinical symptoms and their liver functions were obviously ameliorated after the treatment with plasma exchange. The general effective rate was 62.5 %(80.50 % and 70.59 % for the early and middle stage repectively). There was significant difference between the therapeutic group and control group (P0.01). The mean levels of serum total bilirubin was decreased from 377.1 μmol/L to 197.6 μmol/L(P0.01). Conclusion It is demonstrated that plasma exchange is an effective approach in severe hepatitis especially with better effect of the treatment in early stage.
