Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of thinprep cytology test(TCT)and the Bethesda system (TBS) cytology subdivision in cervical carcinoma screening. Methods Totally 5,809 healthy women received an early cervical screening by Papanicolaou or TCT.Among them, those with positive disease received the colpomicroscopy examination. The cytological results were compared with pathologic examination. Results The sensitivity of Papanicolaou for cervical intraepithelial neoplasma (CIN) infection was lower than that in TCT,and there were statistically significant differences between the two methods (P0.05).Conclusions TCT is an effective way in early screening of cervical cancer and precancerous pathological changes.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
