Abstract

Objective:To analyze the contents of total flavonoids in Chrysanthemum from different sources and its antioxidant activity. Methods:Determination of total flavonoids content by Na NO2-Al(NO3)3-Na OH method,use DPPH radical,hydroxyl radical and superoxide anion radical as the antioxidant activity index,to determine the radical scavenging capacity of total flavonoids in Chrysanthemum. Results:Differences in the content of total flavonoids in Chrysanthemum from different sources was greatly and had the ability of scavenging DPPH radical,hydroxyl radical and superoxide anion radical. Chrysanthemum from different sources had the different ability of antioxidant activity. The content of total flavonoids in Chrysanthemum and DPPH radical,hydroxyl radical scavenging activity had clear correlation,the correlation coefficients were 0.660 and 0.518(P0.01). Conclusion:There were differences in the contents of total flavonoids in Chrysanthemum from different sources and had good radical scavenging activity. And there was a clear doseeffect relationship between the content of total flavonoids and antioxidant activity.
