The Confusion of the Forms of Stone Inscriptions in the Sui, Tang Dynasties (隋唐)and Five Dynasties(五代)

Abstract

There are many confued forms in stone inscriptions in the Sui, Tang Dynasties(隋唐) and Five Dynasties(五代). We add up the number of confused forms of Chinese characters in this period, and probe into the causes which caused the confusion, find the way to distinguish the confused forms and show that the study of regular scripts history has great value to understand the formation and standardization of modern Chinese characters.
