Abstract
Adding titanium wire which was used as reinforcement phase into the high carbon steel,the wire-like TiC/Fe composites were synthesized by casting plus heat treatment process.The microstructure,wear-resistance of TiC/Fe composites was analysed.The results show that,the harden phase TiC particles in the composites distribute along the Ti wires.The TiC particles are in the shape of small cubic with size in the range of 1~4 μm.The wear-resistance of TiC/ Fe composites are better than the high caxbon steel.
