Abstract
The Pikes,adopting the realistic method,draws an exact picture of the society in 1950s to 1980s.The novel tells us the political and personal changes of Dr.Linyu,a surgeon,and the people around him,also describes the good and the evil of the humanity,as well as the tears and the joys of human life,at the same time reflects the trace of a person′s destiny effected by current situation,circumstance and characteristics,also represents the author′s reflection for the society and the tragic destiny of human life.
