Trimetazidine for Unstable Angina:A Report of 68 Cases

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of trimetazidine on unstable angina.Methods A total of 136 patients with unstable angina were divided into two groups:treatment group and control group,with 68 patients in each group.All patients were treated with nitrates,β1-receptor blockers or calcium antagonists,low molecular weight heparin,angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors,lipid lowering drugs,etc.Additionally,patients in treatment group were given trimetazidine.The clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were observed in both groups.Results Compared with control group,the treatment with trimetazidine significantly increased the total angina improvement rate(94.1% vs 66.2%,P0.05) and the total ECG improvement rate(73.5% vs 54.4%,P0.05).No obvious adverse reactions were found in both groups.Conclusion Trimetazidine is safe and effective for the treatment of unstable angina.
