An Empirical Study of the Relationship Between Financial Development and Economic Growth in Anhui Province

In China,the relationship between financial development and economic growth varies in different regions.To explore the relationship between financial development and economic growth in Anhui Province,an empirical study on the related data of Anhui Province in 1996-2010 was carried out based on the cointegration test and Granger causality test.The results show that there is a long-run stable equilibrium relationship between the financial development and economic growth in Anhui Province;and an one-way causal relationship exists between them,namely the financial development significantly promotes the economic growth but not in the inverse process.Relevant suggestions are also provided for the positive interaction between the financial development and economic growth in Anhui province.
