Abstract
Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of early and late administration of simvastatin on acute coronary syndromes(ACS).Methods 67 patients with ACS(age range,47~65),were randomly divided into two groups,35 patients were treated with simvastatin 40 mg/d from the onset of ACS,the other 32 patients were treated with simvastatin 40 mg/d from a month later. The TC,LDL,HDL and hsCRP were measured 4 months,8 months and 12 months after treatment. At the same time the incidences of cardiovascular death,AMI,ACS reinhospitalization and stroke were observed. Results There was no difference in improvement of plasma lipoid levels between the two groups, however, the incidence of cardiac events in early treatment group was higher than that of late treatment group. Conclusion The incidence of cardiac odds might be reduced if patients with ACS are treated with simvastatin early.
