An Exploration of the Change and Influence of the Rural Basic Education Policies in the New China

Abstract

The education in rural China,with its wide expansion and great amount,occupies an important position in the national education.The rural basic education plays an essential,leading and overall role.Compared with the Old China,the rural basic education in the New China has made great achievements.The direct driving force to push it forward has been a series of policies concerning the rural education framed and implemented by the Party and Government in different historical periods.Since 1949,the basic education in the rural education has undergone an extraordinary change.This paper will trace the historical change of the policies concerning the rural basic education in the New China,and on this base it will analyze how the factors,such as the rural social and economic reform,the change of the value orientation of macro-education policies and the mechanism that constitutes the basic education polices,have exerted influences on the change of the policies concerning the rural basic education.
