Abstract

As XML is becoming the base of data display,exchange,indexing and so on,it is more and more important to effectively store and query XML data in database.This paper discusses the status of XML data storage and query technology,summarizes important previous works on relation-based XML data storage and query and their problems.Based on that,this paper outlines the direction of future research in this area.
