A Comparative Trial of Domestic Paroxetine Versus Fluoxetine in the Treatment of Depression

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Domestic Paroxetine and fluoxetine in the treatment of depression.Methods:Sixty patients with depression were randomly divided into two groups:Domestic Paroxetine group(30 cases)and fluoxetine group(30 cases)and all the patients were treated for 6 weeks.Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) was used for evaluating the therapeutic efficacy,while Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS)was for side effects.Results:There was no significant diference of efficacy between Domestic Paroxetine gronp and fluoxetine group.Conclusion:Domestic Paroxetine is an effective and safe agent in the treatment of depression.
