Abstract
Objective To explore the characteristics of depression patients with hypertension in the elderly .Methods A total of 73 elderly patieats with hypertension and 81 elderly without hypertension were screened with HAMD. Results The incidence of depression was 38.36% (hypertension group) vs. 11.12%(control group),the total score,somatisation,diurnal variation,blocking,sleep disorder and feeling of despair were significantly higher in the hypertension group,compared to control group..Conclusion The incidence of depression is high in elderly hypertensives.
