Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy ofcoronal CT scan in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of lesions withsacrum and sacroiliac joint.comparing the anatomic structures and imaging features of sacrum and sacroiliac joint.on coronal sacrum and sacroiliac joint CT scan with those on axial. Methods In the contrast study, CT axial scanning plus reconstruction was performed in 45 randomized cases and so was coronal scanning in 45 randomized cases of sacrum and sacroiliac joint. Results The image quality and diagnostic accuracy of CT coronal scan proved superior to those of CT axial scan. Conclusion Coronal CT scan of sacrum and sacroiliac jointis obviously superior to axial scan in depicting the structure , especially in tiny features of sacrum and sacroiliac joint.
