Abstract

Chimney demolition through controlled blasting is a method,which is economic,safe and easy to operate.Nanfen Iron Mine carried out a controlled blasting in demolition of its chimney in the first time.The demolished chimney was an old square chimney.Its blasting demolition was easy to be conducted through directional blasting but hard to ensure an inclined collapse compared with the operation of the round one.For this reason,relative greater blasting height was determined in the design,offering a very meaningful experience for the similar project.
