Abstract
Objective To study the role of urodynamics in the diagnosis and treatment of the patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods Urodynamic tests and urodynamic evaluation of the treatment were made to 453 cases with benign prostatic phyperplasia so as to provide the theoretical basis for surgical treatment. Results All the 453 cases suffered from bladder outlet obstruction(BOO),out of the 453 cases,215 cases had pure BOO without bladder dysfunction(47.5%),86 cases suffered from bladder instability18.9%),72 cases had low compliance bladder(15.9%),24 cases suffered from unstable bladder with low compliance(5.3%),77 cases had weak detrusor contraction(17.0%),and 3 cases had detrusor sphincter dysfunction(0.7%).Conclusion Urodynamic test can evaluate the function of bladder and urethra and provide the theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of the cases with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
