Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of antibiotic on the development of Plasmodium yoelii BY265-EGFP in Anopheles stephensi.Methods Anopheles stephensi fed with or without antibiotic were infected with recombinate Plasmodium yoelii BY265-EGFP.At 7 and 16 days after the blood feeding,the number of oocyst and sporozoite in mosquito were determined,respectively.Results The infection rate of both oocyst and sporozoite were higher in antibiotic-treated group than those in the control.Conclusion Antibiotic treatment could promote the development of Plasmodium yoelii BY265-EGFP in Anopheles stephensi.
