Effects observation of interferon combined with Kanfuxin liquid in treating hand-foot and mouth disease

Objective To investigate the efficiency of interferon combined with Kanfuxin liquid in treating children hand-foot and mouth disease (HFMD). Methods One hundred and ten cases HFMD children from inpatient department during May 2010 to November 2012 were randomly enrolled into the treating group (58 cases), and the control group (52 cases). The sexual divition and the severity of symptom of two groups had no significant difference (P 0.05). The treating group were administered interferon intramuscular injection and comprehensive therapy, and combined with Kangfuxin liquid, taken orally and external used. The control group were only given interferon and comprehensive therapy. Results The treating group, cooling time was (2.25±0.40) d, hand-foot and mouth herpes regression time was (2.41±0.79) d, average length of stay was (5.23±1.61) d, obvious response rate was 51.7% (30/58), overall response rate was 91.4% (53/58). The control group, cooling time was (2.36±0.75) d, hand-foot and mouth herpes regression time was (3.21±0.63) d, average length of stay was (6.41±1.58) d, obvious response rate was 30.8% (16/52), overall response rate was 76.9% (40/52). There were significant differences between two groups about hand-foot and mouth herpes regression time, average length of stay, obvious response rate and overall response rate (P0.05). Conclusion There is a good curative effect to use interferon combines with Kanfuxin liquid in treating HFMD .
