On the relations between research-based learning and inquiry learning

The opening of research based learning as course is an important measure of current curriculum reform in our country However, while research based learning is defined as a new course, it can also be regarded as a kind of learning approach, and has been confused with inquiry learning which was widely used in schools of west countries Some people declare that research based learning and inquiry learning are different terms of the same kind of learning approach, others believe that research based learning is at a higher level than inquiry learning be, and inquiry learning is included within research based learning This paper argued that research based learning is a special form of inquiry learning which is mainly used in research based learning as course,and other forms of inquiry learning are widely used in subject courses
