Infection and Drug Resistance of Mycoplasma in Urogenital Tract in 599 Cases from STD Clinic

Objective To investigate the urogenital mycoplasma infection and its drug sensitivty in patients from STD clinic.Methods Mycoplasma culture was carried out with the samples of 599 cases and the drug sensitive test was detected at the same time.Results A total of 238 cases was mycoplasma-positive(positivity rate of 39.73%),including 190 UU-positive cases(31.72%),10 MH-positive cases(1.67%) and 38 cases positive for both UU and MH(6.34%).Clarithromycin,azithromycin,minocyclin and doxycycline were more effective drug against UU infection.Minocyclin and doxycycline were more effective against both MH infection and mixed infection with UU and MH.Conclusion The urogenital mycoplasma infection results mainly from UU infection in patients from STD clinic in Ningbo.Minocyclin and doxycycline are the first line drugs for urogenital mycoplasma infection in Ningbo.
