Histological Studies on Digestive System of Mud Loach(Missgurnus arguillicaudatus)

The morphology and histology of the digesting system of Missgurnus arguillicaudatus were studied using anatomy and microtechnic.The results showed that the digestive tract in M.arguillicaudatus consisted of esophagus,stomach,foregut,midgut,hindgut.The oesophagus was composed of stratified squamous epitheliums with a lot of goblet cells.The I-shaped stomach was the widest part of digestive tract.It has a single-layered columnar epithelium,under which,some gastric gland are present.The structure of the foregut,midgut,hindgut were similar.They were all composed of mucosa,submucosa,muscle and serosa layers.There are compact intestinal villus in mucous epithelium of the intestinal tract and the straited border is obvious.The liver cells is compact.The pancreas cells distribute around the liver cells.
