The treatment of senior and high-risk benign prostatic hyperplasia by transurethral resection of partial prostate(32 case analyses attached)

Objective To evaluate the effect of transurethral resection of partial prostate(TURP) on senior and high-risk benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods TURP was used to treat 32 cases of senior and highly risk BPH.Results Mean weight of resected tissue was 12.5 g,and mean operative time was 30.5 minutes.Postoperative international prostatic symptom score(IPSS)and residual volume were significantly decreased,while maximum and average urinary flow rates were significantly increased.There was no TUR syndrome or death.Conclusion TURP can be applied to senior and highly BPH with safety and satisfactory efficacy.It is the section to be resese cted instead of the volume that should be pursued.
