Abstract
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century the American women intellectuals rose to be a kind of“new women”,who contributed greatly to the liberation of women and the reform of the society;their challenge to the traditional man-woman positional relationship,their pursuit for the open healthy life style,their socialization and their struggle for woman's rights had helped them go through a role transformation as it is the law in women's liberation cause, that is,they rose from housewives to social women and eventually to political women.
