Comparison of semen quality in the patients with varicocele at different degrees

Objective To evaluate semen quality in the patients with varicocele at different degrees and the infertile patients.Methods A comparison of their semen parameters in 177 varicocele and infertile patients in accordance with varicocele analysis standard described in the WHO manual with 28 healthy people was taken.Results The semen parameters showed no significant difference in subclinical varicocele patients compared with healthy people,also there no significant difference between the patients of grade Ⅱ varicocele with those of grade Ⅲ varicocele;But compared with healthy people and subclinical varicocele patients,a significant increase was found in semensperm density,activity ratio,(A+B) grade sperm percentage(P0.05).Conclusion Whether to take or not the approach with surgery should be cautious in subclinical varicocele combined with infertile patients;for varicocele Ⅱ,Ⅲ grade combined with infertile patients,it should be suggesting to actively performe operation
