Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of quercetin on the tubular epithelial-myofibroblast transdifferentiation(TEMT) induced by TGF-β in vitro. Methods The cultured NRK52E cells were stimulated by TGF-β and at the same time co-incubated with different concentration of quercetin. After cells been cultured, the expressions of a-SMA,E-cadherin were measured by immunocytochemistry method and PCR.Results TGF-β induced the expression of a-SMA and suppressed the expression of E-cadherin of NRK52E cells.Treated with Quercetin can reduce the TGF-β induced expression of a-SMA,and upregulate the expression of E-cadherin significantly. Conclusion Quercetin can partly inhibit the process of TMET induced by TGF-β.
