Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the health education and health promotion ability of the provincial Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDCs) in 2009.Methods: Data related to the health education and health promotion ability of provincial CDCs in 2009 was collected and evaluated from 3 dimensions including main health promotion activities,knowledge awareness rate of key diseases control and prevention in target population,and the index of health behavior intervention in target population.Results: In 2009,the average completion rate of health promotion activities was 97.8%;the knowledge awareness rate of key diseases control and prevention in target population was 73.6% and the index of health behavior intervention was 0.916.All the three indicators have already or nearly reached the standards.Conclusion: The work of health education and health promotion in provincial CDCs was generally good;and the performance indicators related to the health education and health promotion ability were scientific,rational,and operational.
