Abstract

The effects of simulated acid rain stress(pH 3.0,4.0,5.0,respectively) on seed germination and seedling growth of rice(Oryza sativa) were analyzed. The results showed that: there was little influence on the seed germination under the simulated acid rain with pH 5.0,but a significant inhibition effect exited under the simulated acid with pH 3.0 and PH 4.0;the rice seedling showed sensitive to all different simulated cid rain stresses, the growth indexes including leaf length, height and fresh weight of seedlings and number of adventitious roots were less than these cultured in the normal condition(CK),and the inhibition effect increased with decreasing pH of simulated acid rain. The results indicated that, simulated acid rain with different pH values all have effect on seed germination and seedling growth of rice, and the seedlings are more sensitive to the acid rain stress than seeds.
