Study of Yishenan composition on the treatment of chronic renal failure

Abstract

Objective To study the effect of Yishenan composition on the treatment of chronic renal failure (CRF). Methods 60 cases with chronic renal failure were randomly divided into treatment group,which was treated by Yishenan composition, and control group,which was treated by aldehyde oxystarch.Serum creatinine (SCr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine clearance, plasma-albumin (ALb) and symptoms score of TCM were observed before and after treatment. Results SCr, BUN, Alb and symptoms score of TCM after treatment obviously decreased in comparison with those before treatment in two groups (P0.01). The total effective rate in treatment group (80.3%) was higher than that in control group (66.6%, P0.05). The effect in treatment group was superior to that in control group. Conclusion Yishenan composition can improve kidney function of patients with CRF, regulate cell factor, decrease symptoms score of TCM, and raise life quality.
