Abstract
The research of tassel branches, tassel weight, tassel length on 10 Shenyu series maize hybrids and its parental inbreds were studied. According to variance analysis and correlation analysis, the results showed that the effects of topdressing urea on branches and length of tassel of Shenyu series maize hybrids and its parental inbreds were not significant. But effect of that on tassel weight of Shenyu series maize hybrids was significant. The interaction between fertilizer and parental inbred lines was extremely significant. The correlations between tassel branches, tassel weight and yield per ha were negatively significant. There was a significant positive correlation between tassel weight and its branches at no topdressing treatment. There was a significant negative correlation between tassel branches and yield per ha, tassel weight had a significant positive with its branches at topdressing rate of urea treatment, which indicated that small tassel would beneficial to yield increasing.
