Abstract
In sulfuric acid medium, chrome blue black-R is oxidized by Cr() to produce decoloring and the decoloring degree of chrome blue black-R has a linear correlation with the concentration of Cr_2O~(2-)_7.Based on this,a new spectrophotometric method for determination of trace chromium() is developed.Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range of 0~0.80 mg/L for Cr().The apparent molar absorption coefficient is 1.4×10~5 L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1). This method is easy and rapid, and is applied for the determination of trace chromium in steel sample with satisfactory results.
