Abstract

There are many excellent poetic dramas and historical plays produced during Yuan Dynasty, mainly on seigneurs' hegemony during the Chunqiu Period, the historical events in the courts, and battles between different races. These plays artistically reappear the distinct revenge consciousness and patriotic passion. This paper points out that the plays are not only the outcomes of the particular historical times, but also the promotions of Chinese traditional culture.
