Exploration About AIDS Interventional Model Among Female Sex Workers In Entertainment Places

Objective To explore the model of comprehensive intervention in female sex workers in entertainment places,and provide a basis for AIDS control and prevention.Methods Female sex workers in entertainment places were intervened by training,peer education,lecture,the free distribution of condoms and handbooks and so on,and were investigated by questionnaires before and after invention.The interventional effect was evaluated.Results After intervention,the AIDS prevention and control knowledge level of the female sex workers increased from the baseline 65.27% to 97.57%,and the proportion of last condom use in commercial sex behaviors increased from 65.52% to 94.65%,the utilization of voluntary counseling and testing(VCT) services increased from the baseline 17.87% to 37.11%,and the proportion of female sex workers who had visited a public hospital increased from 30.41% to 67.61%.Conclusion The comprehensive interventional model,the owners of entertainment places-Peer Education-sex workers in entertainment places,could effectively improve female sex workers knowledge of STDs/AIDS and in crease the condom use rate.
