Evaluation on the Effect of AIDS/STD Related Knowledge Training and Behavior Intervention among Female Sex Workers in Entertainment Places

Abstract

[Objective]To evaluate the effect of AIDS/STD related knowledge training and the intervention effect on condom use promotion among female sex workers in entertainment places.[Methods]Training,intervention and evaluation on AIDS/STD knowledge were conducted among female sex workers in entertainment places from 2006 to 2008.[Results]278 and 273 employees were investigated before and after intervention.The understanding rate of 3 AIDS transmission routes,the proportion of taking care of AIDS patients and condom use when had sex were improved obviously after intervention(P0.01 or P0.05).The total examination rate and infection rate of STD was decreased significantly(P0.01).[Conclusion]The intervention effect on AIDS/STD related knowledge training and condom use promotion among female sex workers in entertainment places was effective.
