Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture and Chinese herbal ion-introduction in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation(LIDH).Method A hundred and twenty patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,60 in each group. The treatment group received electroacupuncture plus Chinese herbal ion-introduction,and the control only received electroacupuncture for treatment. The clinical effects of the two groups were then compared.Result The recovery rate and total effective rate were respectively 75.0% and 96.7% in the treatment group, versus 53.3% and 85.0% in the control group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion The combination of electroacupuncture and Chinese herbal ion-introduction is significantly effective in treating LIDH.
