Improvement of Pigging Process and Devices Used for Ku-Shan Oil Pipeline Pigging

The pigging operations of Ku-Shan oil pipeline since it was put into production are introduced in this paper. Aimed at the practical field circumstances,the pigging process and devices have been improved including pigging operation sequence,corresponding flow switching as mixed contaminated oil head arrived,adding a filter to positive transportation flow at a decompression station,canceling holes on original pig frame and making particular-purpose pigging devices. The improved pigging process and devices are more suitable for practical applications and raise the safety and effectiveness of pigging operation.
