Abstract
Pigging operation is used extensively in gas pipelines. In pigging, the contents of a pipeline are pushed by a pig with the goal of removing the deposits and debris almost completely from the pipeline.Periodic pigging can reduce the pressure drop and increase the flow efficiency. With Strengthen of single-phase flow transient pigging research, the development of new effective pig to combine theory with practice can help pigging in the pipelines running better. The paper summarized the current study of pigging operation in single phase pipelines at home and abroad, and analyzed their disadvantages. It will have a certain referring effect for the further analysis and research of pigging operation from now on.
